The Association for Women in Sports Media is excited to announce a new training program for high school students interested in journalism careers.

For $15, students will gain access to three virtual meetings with professional journalists, exclusive "ask the pros" opportunities throughout the six-month program and recordings of every session. Students who attend at least two of the three meetings will earn a professional development certificate from AWSM. The program is open to all interested high school journalism students.

‍Program Schedule:

Oct. 28, 5 p.m. CST — Jenny Dial Creech and Megan Ortiz, two former sports writers turned award-winning journalism educators, will discuss breaking into the industry, what they're seeing from successful journalism students today, and how high schoolers can prepare for college and beyond.

‍Late January — NYT bestselling author and award-winning writer Mirin Fader will share her insights on crafting top-tier reporting and narrative writing.

‍Late March — The program wraps up with a session featuring a veteran broadcaster, details to be announced.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn directly from accomplished journalists and build skills that will set you apart as you pursue a career in the field.
