AWSM was founded in 1986 to support women at all levels of sports media. We advocate for equity in opportunities and diversity of voices both covering sports teams and athletes and working for teams and athletes. The organization is open to members of all genders.
Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism, Media and Integrated Marketing Communications is a premier constituent school of Northwestern University, founded in February 1921 and named after former Chicago Tribune publisher Joseph Medill.
