The Association for Women in Sports Media is hosting a digital convention in June that will feature training and networking opportunities for members from coast to coast.

We're thrilled to announce award-winning multi-platform journalist and innovator Jemele Hill will be joining us as our keynote speaker to kick off the convention on Saturday, June 1.

AWSM will hold a wide range of workshops on June 1 and June 8. Convention sessions will begin at 12 p.m. EST / 9 a.m. PST. On June 5, AWSM will host its annual job fair starting at 12 p.m. EST / 9 a.m. PST.

Hill will help open #AWSM2024, sharing her unique journey with our members. She worked as an award-winning newspaper reporter and columnist before joining ESPN as a featured writer and host of various network shows. The outspoken leader who has been a fierce advocate for women in sports media her entire career later launched her "Jemele Hill is Unbothered" podcast that was so popular it spurred the creation of her "Unbothered" podcast network. She wrote "Uphill: A Memoir," which was published in 2022. Hill is a contributing writer for The Atlantic and co-founder of the film production company Lodge Freeway Media.

Registration will soon open for the #AWSM2024 convention. Student member registration was $5, but a generous donor has covered the cost so student members can access the convention and exclusive video playback of sessions free of charge.

Professional member registration costs $10 and non-members can access the event for a $50 fee.

AWSM looks forward to an exciting and inclusive digital convention in 2024. We will host our next in-person convention in 2025.
