The Association for Women in Sports Media is adding three new coordinators to the leadership team. Amie Just and Eileen Wickline will be joining the team as new digital/social media coordinators, while Jeanmarie Winger will be an internship/scholarship coordinator.

"It’s wonderful to add three women who are all looking to give back to the organization that has helped them in various ways. This is exactly how I felt when I was looking to give back and became a coordinator myself in 2015," AWSM president Ashley Colley said. "It's a great way to get involved and all three will make big contributions right out of the gate."

Just covers the New Orleans Saints for The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate and has lived in Louisiana for two years. She previously was an LSU beat reporter for The Times-Picayune and the Montana beat reporter for the Missoulian. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas in 2017 and became a professional member of AWSM shortly afterward. Just was part of the 2019-2020 AWSM Champions mentorship program, where she was paired with USA Today Sports columnist Nancy Armour.

Wickline is a Temple University grad with a BA in broadcast journalism. While in school, she held on-air positions as a color commentator for WHIP Radio covering the Temple football and basketball teams and as a reporter for OwlSports Update. After graduation, she took a position as a broadcast associate with MLB Network in the graphics department. She joined AWSM in 2018 as a student member and became a professional member after graduation in May 2019.

"Adding Just and Wickline to our team will allow us to have an increased presence on both our digital and social channels. With so many of our members shifting to remote work, both at the professional and student level, being able to connect quicker and more frequently in these areas is very important to AWSM. We believe bringing additional resources to our current team of digital/social media coordinator Jenna Willhoit and VP/digital Caitlin Schmidt will allow us to better serve our members in the ever evolving digital and social space. We are also excited this will allow us to update our members only job board with the additions of new jobs and internships more than once a week," Colley said. "Winger will provide additional support to our summer internship and scholarship program. This is one of the longest running parts of our organization. AWSM has placed nearly 200 female college students interested in sports media careers in paid summer internships since 1990. With the help of lead internship and scholarship coordinator Beth Maiman, the two will help manage the program on a daily basis and help us adapt as needed due to the ongoing pandemic. Maiman and Winger have strong ties to AWSM dating back to their tenure as student b members and are passionate about being able to help provide these opportunities for up-and-coming women in the field."

As executive assistant to the president of the New Jersey Devils, Winger is responsible for providing support and managing day-to-day calendars and long-term planning. Prior to her role as executive assistant, Winger was a community engagement associate for the Philadelphia 76ers, where she was responsible for assisting with the Wilt Chamberlain Memorial Fund, the Sixers Youth Foundation and the Sixers Youth Foundation Gala. Winger earned her bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Penn State University in 2017. While at Penn State, Winger interned with Penn State athletics in their digital/social media and customer relations departments and was introduced to AWSM in 2015 through the school's student chapter.

“I’m looking forward to working with Amie, Eileen and Jeanmarie, who are enthusiastic members of AWSM eager to help others,” AWSM board chair Iliana Limón Romero said. “Their skills, attention to detail and creativity will help us serve more members moving forward. I also hope this expansion of the leadership team signals there is space for everyone within AWSM and more opportunities to serve if you would like to assist the organization.”
