AWSM is thrilled to announce Pro Football Hall of Fame broadcaster Andrea Kremer as the opening-night keynote speaker during the 2019 convention in Tampa, Fla.

Kremer, a longtime AWSM supporter, is one of the most accomplished and widely respected journalists in the industry. She became the first full-time female NFL game analyst, partnering with Hannah Storm to form the first female commentating team for Amazon Prime Video’s “Thursday Night Football” package. She is a currently chief correspondent for NFL Network and a correspondent for HBO's award-winning program “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel.”

In addition to her TV work, Kremer has taught “The Art of the Interview” at Boston University's College of Communication.

Don't miss this chance to gain insight from a versatile reporter who has covered more than 25 Super Bowls; NBA, MLB and NHL playoffs; college football bowl games; NCAA men's basketball tournament games; U.S. Olympic basketball trials; and the PGA Championship.

Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Jackie MacMullan to accept Mary Garber Pioneer Award

Join us in celebrating the 2019 Mary Garber Pioneer Award recipient Jackie MacMullan -- member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and senior writer at ESPN -- who will be recognized during AWSM’s annual convention June 13-16, 2019, in Tampa, Fla. The Pioneer Award will be presented during a luncheon on Friday, June 14.

“I am beyond thrilled to join the list of talented and groundbreaking women who honor the amazing legacy of Mary Garber,” MacMullan said. “Thank you, AWSM, for continuing to support and promote women in our industry.”

MacMullan has been reporting on professional basketball for more than three decades. She first garnered recognition for her work at the Boston Globe, covering the Celtics in the 1980s and early ’90s while also covering such events as the World Series, Stanley Cup Finals and Olympics.

Following a stint as a senior NBA writer at Sports Illustrated from 1995-2000, she returned to the Globe in 2002 as a columnist and associate editor before accepting a buyout from the newspaper in 2008. Since then, she has written for and appeared on a variety of ESPN platforms, including popular television programs “Around the Horn,” “Pardon the Interruption” and “The Jump.”
