Relax, recharge, reinvent yourself at this year's AWSM Convention!

One of the country’s most historic cities will serve as host for the 2009 AWSM Convention — Philadelphia! With its eclectic blend of past and present, the City of Brotherly Love will be the perfect place to unwind and recharge on May 22-24, 2009. The beautiful Crowne Plaza Philadelphia-Center City will serve as the host hotel, and the cost of rooms has been cut to just $139 per night through May 15 only!

Don't miss out on these great events:

  • Opening Night Reception at the National Constitution Center
  • Multimedia training track panels on everything from using social media to video production to marketing yourself in a digital world
  • The debut of the new AWSM Career Expo, which blends good, old-fashioned networking with valuable sessions on thriving and surviving in our changing industry
  • Great panels like a Q&A with Sports Illustrated's Selena Roberts on breaking the A-Rod story, Changing Careers with Grace and a state-of-the-industry address from the decision makers themselves
  • An amazing Pioneer Lunch honoring Linda Robertson of the Miami Herald!

AWSM give back -- Philly style
AWSM is proud to support Project H.O.M.E., a Philadelphia-based homeless and poverty non-profit outreach organization, during this convention. Members are asked to donate travel-sized toiletries for Project H.O.M.E., which will be used by the charity to help women and children in need. The toiletries will be collected at the registration table throughout the weekend.

Traveling to Philly by plane?
When flying into Philadelphia International Airport, you can take a cab to the hotel for about $30. My favorite option, though, is Lady Liberty shuttle. For half the price, the shuttle offers door-to-door service. You may make a couple of extra stops – the shuttle serves multiple Center City hotels – but it is a great option. Service is available from 5:30 a.m. to midnight, and reservations are not required for service, which departs every 10-15 minutes. For complete details, visit www.ladylibertyshuttle.com.

Silent auction giveaway
Already, convention-goers will be able to bid on autographed gear from the Baltimore Ravens, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Detroit Pistons and USA Softball. And more amazing merchandise is arriving everyday! Do you have a silent auction item to donate? All donors will have their name entered in a drawing for a $50 gift card from Amazon.com! The winner will be announced at the Pioneer Luncheon. Note: donors do not have to be present to win.
