Julie Bartel serves as the Director of Communications for the Amateur Softball Association and USA Softball. She handles all media relations issues and will be traveling to Beijing in 2008 for the Olympic Games. Prior to the ASA, she worked at the NCAA National Office as Assistant Director of Media Coordination for Championships. She was the media coordinator for six Division I championships: women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, indoor track and field, wrestling, women’s golf and softball. Before joining the NCAA, she worked as the assistant director of communications for ASA/USA Softball, primarily as a press officer for the women’s national team. A University of Dayton graduate, Bartel also had internships with the U.S. Olympic Committee and Atlantic 10 conference.
